Flattered and honoured this internet it girl was when we asked her to do a Q&A with us. And that's how we like it! She also manages to capture Sydney's streetstyle at its finest, giving us a breathtaking image of 'Down under.' The finest food, the coolest people and the ultimate hang outs. Maria's blog represents it all.
Q&A
Q: Could you describe your style in three striking words?
A: More is More
Q: When did your blog started to become very popular? What triggered your massive success?
A: My blog only really took off recently, and I'm not sure what triggered the success to be honest, maybe my incredibly funny dad-style jokes or the fact that I'm consistently and profusely thankful to all my followers. Either way I hope it keeps going.
Q: What are you going to do after finishing this Q&A?
A: Answer some blog-related emails and then eat some delicious dinner.
Q: What do you eat for breakfast?
A: Great question because I'm a MASSIVE breakfast fan. I love poached eggs on sourdough with mushrooms, tomatoes and avocados, or some fruit with a coffee.
Q: What's your biggest starstruck moment?
A: It would have to be sitting behind Christine Centenera, the fashion editor for Harper's Bazaar Australia, at Rosemount Australia Fashion Week last year. I was just amazed at how flawless her style is.
Q: Who is your absolute fashion muse?
A: I don't think I can name just one person that inspires me in my style. My muse is experimentation and the constant exploration of style. Sometimes the most random things are my fashion muse, I'm a bit weird.
Q: Everyone has had a favorite clothing piece worn till death, what's yours?
A: My Akubra hat gets the absolute wear and tear. I love hats- and that is my favourite one, which says a lot.
Q: What do you usually do on a Saturday night?
A: If I told you the amount of times my Saturday nights ended in a bookstore, you would laugh.
Q: What music do you put on to get you happy?
A: There's so many nut at the moment it's 'Petoskey Stone' by Dana Falconberry. Such a lovely, happy song.
Q: What's your most important advise to become an A-list fashion blogger?
A: Try to invest in a good camera and learn the tricks of trade, so often I thought I couldn't do it without a photographer boyfriend (seems to be pretty common), but you need to be creative about your approach. And try not to follow what everyone does, let your blog be a project of the heart and have fun.
Q: What's in your opinion fashion capital of the world and why?
A: Hmm, this is a toughy because I've never been there but from what I can see of the street style, I'd have to say New York.
Q: Who is your favorite fashion blogger?
A: So many! I'd have to say Mandy from Oracle Fox. Sweetest and most stylish girl ever.
Q: Can you explain your blogname?
A: Fashion Fazer was something I thought up in about five minutes. I think I was going in the direction of being 'phased by fashion' and thought the alliteration was appealing. It's become pretty catchy now, Fashion Fazer, Fashion Fazer. True?
Q; What's your ultimate fashion craving at this moment? What do we definitely have to wear in 2012?
A: I'm still riding on that neon high but I am absolutely LOVING the Alexander Wang Diego bucket bag in petrol. I suck at predicting trends but I know this year I'll be wearing a lot of neo-western and bohemian style pieces.
